:I found that my crashing issues were caused by the game crashing and not exiting. I ended up with multiple copies running in memory, with nothing showing on screen. When I cleaned that up, I was able to log in (as of the 11 May patch). I managed to get one of my chars out of Serbule and up to Eltibule. It seems I can play there with all my old settings. So the main problem seems to be Serbule. I found a set of overrides where I could last longer than a few minutes in Serbule before crashing. I noticed that there are EXTENSIVE objects that are not obeying the clipping settings in Serbule (examples: Brain Bugs, stumps/grapes, cemetery gravestones, crates on the ship), in addition to the terrain. I believe the performance problems that some of us are facing are due to the GPU having to render many more objects (than before), and at extreme distances, due to these objects not clipping. I've made about 4 bug reports on my various alts, with no response from the devs (I'm sure they are busy). In my case, AMD64 8x4GHz, 16GB RAM, old GPU (x2), I am pretty sure this is why my framerate is hovering around 7. However, the game is also consuming nearly 8GB of RAM in Serbule (and I believe leaking memory), which I think is causing user systems to run out of RAM and crash. I'm still not playing much, since I need to get to Serbule for banking/crafting. I'm hoping the devs fix the issues soon. I'll keep checking back though. Hello. After some edits yesterday a number of pages seem not to be updating past their cached version (see e.g. [[Mushroom_Jack#Sells]] to see the problem). This applies to edits made to [[Template:Icon]] and [[Template:MOB_infobox]]. I'm looking to purge multiple pages (or the whole wiki) to fix this. Wanted so see if you had any experience with this before proceeding. Discussion at [[Template_talk:Icon]]. I've posted on Extractum11's talk page as well. I created this template when trying to sort out how to make recipe rows at a vendor show icons and link to the proper pages. I tested the template on the [[Braigon]] page and was not happy with the result. With several other changes, Template:Vendor item row now works in this capacity, and produces a satisfactory result. I've changed the Braigon page to Template:Vendor item row and as such this template is no longer used or needed (and may add confusion). We need someone with sysop to delete please. Thanks! I had not been linking, changing case, or correcting any spelling inside quest texts. My understanding was that we should provide the text from dialogs exactly as provided by the game, without any further manipulation. Mentioning because I noticed you made such changes recently on [[Find an Amethyst]]. When he was known as '''Proctor Elmetaph,''' he operated an academy designed to test the magical capabilities of potential recruits for the Council. It seems possible the goal of school was to gather and identify Prodigies. While the school itself has been destroyed, both Elmetaph and some of his tests remain.

Elmetaph will teach players teleportation so that they can escape from the island. He also has a habit of mispronouncing the player's name, implying a familiar but not-too-familiar recollection, as if the player was once a student.

While reading through the books in Elmetaph's room, the player will learn the basics in [[Alchemy]].
