Overview
Ice Magic uses devastating attacks, combined with the randomness of weather and the freezing abilities of ice to create a deadly skill with medium-high power cost. Like other research based magics, Ice Magic abilities are learned through the sacrifice of ingredients to research spells.
In-Game Description
A specialization of Fire Magic that focuses entirely upon lowering temperature instead of raising it. It has protective and controlling abilities as well as offensive abilities.
Training
* Ice Magic is taught by Landri the Cold after completing a quest inside Kur Tower. To begin this quest, a Prodigy should look for a warning sign posted directly inside the dungeon. One must also have Level 25 Fire Magic or Level 25 Rabbit.
* Ichin the Ice Master can unlock Levels 51-70 Ice Magic, and teaches the associated recipes.
* Bendith the Banished will have Levels 71-80 frozen into your brain.
* Levels 81-90 are unlocked by Reinath deep beneath Povus.

Connected Skills
Sub-Skills:
* Ice Conjuration - A sub-skill of Ice Magic dedicated to the creation of delicate ice items. These items tend to melt in hot environments.
Secondary Skills:
* None
Related Skills:
* Fire Magic - Well-studied fire mages may be drawn towards the chilly arts of Ice Magic.
Synergy Levels:
Bonus Synergy Levels for Ice Magic can be obtained from the following skills and levels:
:; Armor Patching
:: Level 55
:; Battle Chemistry
:: Level 30, and Level 55
Fairies
Fairies learn most Ice Magic (not the Glowing Sphere's Ice Veins 3B) automatically from leveling up Ice Magic. See Ice Magic Level Up Rewards.
Research Ingredients
Ice Magic can be viewed as expensive due to the ingredients required for spell research recipes. Each recipe unlocks a selection of abilities in a random order.

If you complete Ice Magic Research Level 25, you will learn one of six abilities (Blizzard 2, Chill 2, Cryogenic Freeze, Ice Armor 3, Ice Lightning 3, Tundra Spikes 2). Complete Ice Magic Research Level 25 six times to learn all associated abilities.
: Ice Core - Looted from various ice-themed creatures creatures, particularly elementals (Cold Elemental), frozen slimes (Ice Slick), and undead ice mages (Skeleton Ice Guard).
: Tundra Lichen - Harvested from the northern hills and shorefront of Kur Mountains. Requires level 37 Foraging.
: Orcish Spell Pouch - Looted from Orcish Thaumaturge and similar spellcaster orc.
: Frost Nib - Obtained from bartering with The Sand Seer in Ilmari.
: Glowy Yellow Crystal - Collected from nodes in set points around Gazluk. Requires level 45 Mining.
: Fairy Iceheart - Looted from Winter Court fairies in the Fae Realm, including Winter Court Scout and Winter Court Soldier.

Weapons
Weapons enabling Ice Magic for humanoid races
Up until the June 9, 2017 Update, first learning Fire Magic was the only path to unlock Ice Magic. That update "Changed the requirements for unlocking Ice Magic; it can now be completed with either the quest and Fire Magic 25, or the quest and [redacted new skill] 25." The special event that weekend was the first opportunity to obtain Bunny Juice and Un-Bunny Juice.
{{Spoiler|Let Steven ramble on about the god Remga (4h)|
{{Quote|
Steven Poplar said, "... so the strongest of these new gods was Remga. He's the god of Piracy and Rape. Real nasty piece of shit. So he takes the form of a goblin and quickly gains a massive following among goblinkin, all while hiding from Vol. But Vol finally finds him, and surprisingly loses. In fact the legend says that Vol got raped that day, but Vol's avatar is a handful of flower petals in the wind, so I'm choosing to believe that's metaphorical somehow.

Anyway, then comes the story everybody knows: Remga raped the wrong god, Errana, and she tore his cock off.

Oh yeah, that's a thing the priests of Errana used to do: if you rape somebody you lose a penis. It's not really done anymore, but you still probably shouldn't act disrespectfully around a priest of Errana.

Now the part that's taboo to talk about. I'm 90% sure it's true. You ready? Errana had a child from that rape. That's Saledar, the goblin god of Cooperation. Yes, he's technically related to Errana! But no priest of Errana will confirm that for me.

As for Remga, missing his penis hasn't stopped him from assaulting countless victims. He's a creative torturer, too. But he's mostly followed for his Pirate side rather than the Rape side. All goblin pirates follow a code that Remga created.

And if you hear someone using Remga's name as a curse, you can bet they used to be a pirate!

Or possibly just a dockworker. Or any sort of manual laborer. It's also catching on among craftsmen too. Look, don't go accusing people of piracy, okay?"
{{Spoiler|Let Steven ramble on about the god Norala (4h)|
{{Quote|
Steven Poplar said, "Yeah, Norala's VERY old. She was already ancient when the Age of Dwarves began! Which was over 74,000 years ago. She's weaker now than in the distant past, but she's cunning and cruel, which helps make up for it.

She's Tast's consort, but more importantly, she's his general among the gods. His vizier. His sage. That sort of thing. They're both dispicable creatures, so it's nice that they found each other.

Norala created the curse of lycanthropy, and it's said that she still gives boons to werewolves that appease her through murder. So she's definitely in the "evil" column.

If there's any sort of saving grace, I guess it's her own sense of loyalty: she's had many opportunities to betray Tast and she never has. Even Tast's son betrayed him, so that says something. Maybe it's fear. Maybe it's a scheme. Maybe she just knows her place. Who can say?

Norala usually takes the form of a big wolf -- like, building-sized big. When she's alongside Tast she takes the form of an orc woman."
{{Spoiler|Let Steven ramble on about the god Ilth Hale (4h)|
{{Quote|
Steven Poplar said, "So the God War was about how much godly intervention would be allowed. Ilth Hale was the god of Humanity and she wanted to be able to use all her power to aid humans. She and Tast led the fight against Vol and Dreva, who wanted the gods to be hands-off.

Before the battle could get very far, Ilth's husband Kirad betrayed her: he'd found a flaw in her Armor of Bravery, and he destroyed it, leaving her naked on the battlefield. She continued to fight while she could. Then she slit her wrists, choosing to die as a mortal does. But Vol wouldn't take her! To be fair to Vol, he was pretty busy fighting at the time. But Ilth took it personally.

She decided not to die after all, and became the god of Sorrow and Loss, which was a major downgrade. But she made new friends. Later she borrowed Harukita's Armor of Hate and his brother's Sword of Bigotry, and they all assaulted the moral realm together, killing millions and spreading new kinds of undead everywhere. That was called Ilth Hale's Rebuke.

But that was a LONG time ago. Nowadays she seems less angry and more sorrowful. Her biggest scheme in the past thousand years as been helping to create vampires. Which is bad, sure. Don't get me wrong.

I mean I'm sure she'd still destroy humanity if she could, but she doesn't seem to be actively trying. She's probably scheming, but all gods scheme. We have to let them deal with their own.

Ilth Hale is known as the bloody god. Her slit wrists still leak blood to this day. And she usually appears naked, but human artists like to gauze her up. Which is fine by me. We probably don't want people lusting after the god of Sorrow and Loss}}
Steven Poplar said, "No, I don't think of her like that. Talerra is a human god, you know? Underneath all that hair is a human avatar! I've had the terrifying experience of meeting her. She really isn't evil. But she's not good either: she just wants people to know the truth. Since she consumes people's Hope to find that truth, our official stance is that she's evil.

Personally, I think she's dangerous to the overly-curious, but then so is a hole in the ground. You don't call hazards evil, it cheapens the word. I feel like a damned rakkie, calling everything evil!

Here, I've been meaning to get rid of this contraband, why don't you take it? It's an apocryphal story about Talerra and Arisetsu. I got it from an outlaw priest of Talerra, so the characterizations may be a little skewed."
The Council doesn't really like its citizens relying on gods. But priests of Arisetsu have served humans for a very long time, so the Council couldn't throw us out. Officially, this is one of the only churches allowed in Statehelm, and we have the Council's explicit blessing to aid the people. Unfortunately, the Council respects us rather less than they say.

Most stress-inducing is Councilman Plaudius. He's apparently created a "Health Emancipator" and would love to replace this church with his... machine. But the church does a lot more than just help people! Thankfully, common sense has won out so far.}}

{{Quote|source=Steven Poplar (Complete Hang Out: Learn this "secret technique" that Steven is so excited about)|
About that "special technique" you taught me...

We spent hours going over this. Don't tell me you lost your memories AGAIN?!

No, no, I' sorry. It's fine! Here's what you need to know.

I taught you a technique to harvest excess negative emotions from undead corpses. Check the almanac in the church to see what types of undead are most overflowing right now; those should be your target.

You don't have to be a priest or use priestly powers to make this work; you just need to wear a symbol of Arisetsu while you kill the undead. Then when you check their corpses, you may spot blobs of excess emotion, so called "pearls."

Bring those pearls back to me and I can use the Muradrake Mirror to invert them into wholesome emotional energy. And then I can use THAT energy to heal people! Among other things.

You're using undead energy to heal people? Is this really safe?

I'm NOT using undead energy to heal people! That's a terrible thought.

See the mirror over there? That's the Muradrake Mirror. Created by Steven Muradrake, who was one of the best and noblest necromancers humanity has ever seen. I can use the mirror to invert the emotional context of dark emotion pearls. Doing so creates a tiny magical spark of hopeful energy, which I can harness.

Now SOME may say that using a necromantic artifact goes against Arisetsu's will, but Arisetsu hates undeath, not necromancy per se. I did a bunch of research to confirm this. Personally I believe Arisetsu would be pleased to see us conjuring negative emotions into positivity.

But please don't tell other priests of Arisetsu. Especially the elven priests -- they're very old-fashioned and any new idea scares them.

Ilth Hale is known as the bloody god. Her slit wrists still leak blood to this day. And she usually appears naked, but human artists like to gauze her up. Which is fine by me. We probably don't want people lusting after the god of Sorrow and Loss}}

CelesteEnfer: /* The Egg Run Quest */

Overview
Egg run is a high level, casual pick-up raid that typically occurs twice a day starting from Red Wing Casino. Players are rewarded with high level gear, skill books, crafting recipes, Xogrite Chunks, and Cheb favor.

Egg Run Rewards
* Level 90-95 equipment drops
* High level skill books, although players will only get these if they have at least one combat skill above level 70
* High level crafting recipes
* Xogrite Chunks
* Favor with Cheb

Egg Run Prerequisites
* Players will need to be able to get to the Aktaari Cave.
**The most popular way is to use the Teleportation Machine to teleport to Aktaari Cave (the code is 9664 as of October 28th 2025). This requires players to have at least 25 Teleportation skill, and it will also consume 2 Aquamarines every time.
**Alternatively, players can skip the Teleportation Machine and run through Errruka's Cave to reach Aktaari Cave instead. Realistically, however, the high level enemies and acid swim will prevent most players from being able to do this.
* Although not strictly necessary, it would be rude to attend an egg run without being capable of Reviving other dead players. Deaths happen during egg run and players will need to revive each other constantly, so be a good citizen and come prepared to do your part. Most players use the Resuscitate ability from the First Aid skill (don't forget to bring a stack of diamonds!)

Egg Run Schedule
It is customary for players to gather and do egg run twice a day at the times listed below. Technically egg run can be done as often as once every 2 hours, but typically most players only plan to show up for egg runs at the times below:
* 11:35am USA Pacific Standard Time
* 3:35pm USA Pacific Standard Time
Sometimes an egg run might be cancelled due to lack of player interest, especially if there is any sort of special event happening in the game.

Getting to the Egg Run Location
*Players typically gather in the main hallway of Red Wing Casino shortly before an egg run, and at the designated time someone will summon a portal to the Teleportation Machine.
*The players will all go through the portal and use the Teleportation Machine to travel to Cheb in Aktaari Cave using the code 9664 (verified correct October 28th 2025).
*There will usually be around 8 minutes left on the timer before the egg run actually begins, and players use this time to form groups and buff up.
**It is customary for players to stand on the table in Cheb's room if they want someone to cast Extra Toes (run speed buff) on them. This buff is invaluable for keeping up with the fast pace of egg runs. After you get Extra Toes please get off the table so the buffers don't accidentally try to cast it on you again.

Egg Run Groups
Players will typically form up into random groups before an egg run starts. You will see many players saying "lfg" in nearby chat before an egg run starts, to let other players know they're looking for a group. It's important that all group leaders remember to type <b>/loot unchecked</b> before the run starts. Otherwise if that group does the most damage to a loot-dropping enemy, other groups will be unable to get their loot from it. If that happens, expect all the people who didn't get their loot to raise hell in chat.

The Egg Run Timer
All throughout Aktaari Cave players will find large timers on the wall, displaying a 60 minute countdown in real time. When the timer reaches zero, the door into the Aktaari Cave opens and the egg run begins. When egg run begins, the timer resets and begins counting down another 60 minutes: this is how much time players have to complete the egg run. When the timer reaches zero again, all players will instantly be teleported back to Cheb and the door will be locked again for another hour, until the next egg run begins.

The Egg Run Quest
Before the first time you start an egg run, talk to Cheb in the starting room. As long as you have exhausted his dialog and you have at least one combat skill at level 70, you will automatically be given the egg run quest once the timer starts. The quest is named "Stop the Aktaari! (Repeatable)" and is located under the Dungeons section of your quest log. The quest objectives are to participate in the killing of three Royal Aktaari (minibosses found along the way during the event) and to smash all of the Royal Eggs in the dungeon. The quest will automatically complete and give you the rewards as soon as you satisfy all the objectives.

Egg Run Mechanics
As soon as the timer reaches zero and the door into the Aktaari Cave opens, the mob of players will immediately begin speedrunning the dungeon as fast as they can, so be ready to keep up. Windstep Shoes can help a ton here, as well as any abilities you have that make you run faster. Spider Speed Potion wouldn't be a bad idea either. It's normal to feel overwhelmed the first time but you'll get used to it quickly.
* If you die, it's usually best not to respawn, but instead wait for someone to resuscitate you.
**If you respawn, you'll be taken to the entrance of Errruka's Cave, but from there you can cast Recall Beginnings to get back to Cheb (assuming you came to egg run via the Teleportation Machine). You can then run back through the tunnels to rejoin the other players.
* The players will rapidly progress through a series of rooms connected by hallways. The rooms and hallways are all densely filled with level 85-95 Aktaari enemies.
**Particularly dangerous are the Aktaari Cock enemies, which will call all nearby enemies in a very large radius to assist them.
* Most rooms will contain one Royal Egg and one Xogrite Chunk, both laying on the ground. Smash every egg and loot every chunk.
**<b>Each player must personally smash every egg or they won't get quest credit</b>.
**The eggs will respawn on every run, but the chunks won't respawn until 72 hours after you loot them.
**It is highly recommended that you go into <i>Settings &gt; Keys &gt; Targeting</i> and bind a key to <b>"Select Next Non-Combatant"</b>. This will make it much easier to find & target the Royal Eggs, Xogrite Chunks, and lootable corpses among the sea of players. Get in the habit of regularly tapping your Select Next Non-Combatant hotkey as you run through each room to make sure you don't miss anything important.
*** By default your U key is bound to <b>"Use Selected"</b> (also found in <i>Settings &gt; Keys &gt; Targeting</i>). Many people also find this hotkey very useful during egg runs, as they find it easier than constantly clicking the buttons above eggs and corpses with the mouse.
* Some rooms will contain a special miniboss named <b>Knight Egg</b>. You'll know one is nearby whenever you see a bunch of Maggot enemies appear. Make sure to loot the Knight Egg's corpse after you see maggots! (Don't forget to use that Select Next Non-Combatant hotkey).
* Some rooms will contain a <b>"Royal"</b> miniboss, such as the Aktaari Princess and Aktaari Queen. Make sure you participate in these fights because these royal kills are necessary to complete the event quest, and they also drop good loot.
**These royals are also accompanied by <b>Royal Guard</b> enemies; these also drop good loot, so make sure to get them too!
* Near the end of the dungeon is a portal. The portal goes back to Cheb, but <b>do not take the portal immediately!</b> There are still a couple of eggs and royals. Just keep following the other players.

Post-Egg Run Traditions
* After the egg run is complete, most players will teleport back to Cheb by taking the portal at the end, or casting Recall Beginnings.
* After each egg run, many players will stand in the start room and link any skill books or recipes they got during the run which they don't want to keep. If one player wants a book or recipe that another player links in chat, they send them a tell asking for it, and then trade the person one of their own skill books in exchange. It's polite to link your unwanted books & recipes in chat then wait a few minutes to see if anybody needs any of them, and if not then you can sell them to Cheb.
* Egg runs usually finish long before the 60 minute timer reaches zero. However, if you wait in the zone until the timer reaches zero and then talk to Cheb, you will get an <b>additional reward</b> of 2 more pieces of equipment and 2 more skill books.
* Someone will usually summon a portal back to Red Wing Casino and the egg run is now complete!
