Overview
Necromancy is a combat skill that focuses on creating undead and wielding dark magic. Most necromantic abilities will do no damage to undead enemies. Necromancers must have an item with a "Necromancy Gem" equipped, and they usually have to be in a graveyard to summon skeletons.

All skeleton-summon abilities besides Free-Summon Skeletal Archer require a Femur (Free-Summon requires a Humanoid skull). It is unknown if Necromancy will gain the ability to free-summon other types of skeletons in the future. For now, the normal summon requires the player to be in a graveyard. There are certain "designated" graveyards (examples are the main entrance of Serbule Crypt, Eltibule Crypt), but otherwise a "graveyard" is any area with at least 3 player tombstones in close proximity. Once summoned, skeleton minions will be resummoned when you move to a different zone, but if they die they are gone until resummoned at a graveyard.

In-Game Description
Necromancy is control over the undead, along with other powers that trifle with mortality. To use necromantic abilities, you must be wielding or wearing a necromancy gem. You can often find these on weapons, and less often on pieces of armor. (If you are in a beast form, necromancy gems in weapons won't work, but ones in armor will.)

Training
<!-- A list of methods to learn and level the skill -->
* The skill is learned by going into the Serbule Crypt, defeating Khyrulek's True Form and delivering an item from the boss's drops to the Pulsing Crystal. When you do this, you will be given a "Necromancy Test Staff" and a "Necromancy Test Necklace". Both have necromancy gems in them, so you can choose one to equip and start using Necromancy.

* Sir Arif teaches Free Summon Skeletal Archer 1-3

* Jumjab teaches Heart's Power 1-2, Wave of Darkness 1-5 No Longer Teaches Super Zombie skill merged into Raise Zombie

* You can learn Spleen's Power from scrolls

* Daniel Murderdark will unlock Necromancy 51-60, unlock 61-70, and teach level 51+ abilities
* Zeratak will trade you a Necromancer's training staff for 4 brain bug lobes and 3 brains

He's been having a hard time getting business, on account of him being a goblin. Percy Evans wants Jumjab to tell him how his dead wife's spirit is doing. Jumjab wants to be paid first. Jumjab also agrees with the Goblin system of slavery.
"No, Jumjab isn't my real name. But humans think Jumjab sounds funny, and I've learned it's better to be seen as a funny little runt than as a master of death magic." - Jumjab
Percy? Old human near the fairy bears? Ugh. Wants me to tell him his dead wife is "at peace." Tell him I'll come by, but it will cost him.
;What do I do exactly?

There are a couple of teleportation platforms on the island. Hopefully they're still in working order! Find one of them and bind yourself to it with your amethyst and the salt I just gave you.

[ Stand on a teleportation platform and press the Recipes button on the right of the screen. Find the Bind Circle recipe and use it while standing on the platform. ]

Oh, but there's one other thing...

;What else?

There's a small chance your amethyst will explode when you use it. Perfectly normal, nothing to be ashamed of! Whenever you cast a teleportation spell, there's a 1-in-5 chance your gem exploding. That's why you should always carry a spare amethyst!

;Ah. Well, I'll give it a shot. Goodbye.

;Yes, I've done it.

Wonderful. Then you have enough hands-on experience to teleport yourself! Just go to a teleportation circle and cast the Recall Circle spell. And I hope you come back to visit again. Goodbye, [ mangled player name]!

;Wait. That will send me to my bound location, right?

Yes. You'll be whisked away to wherever you last bound yourself.

;But I just bound myself to here, on this island!

Hmm. Well, I do know how to remotely bind to a distant location. But I couldn't possibly teach you such an advanced Teleportation technique. It took me over 40 years to learn it. You're a fast learner, but not that fast.

I suppose I could cast it on you myself...

;So you can change my bound location?

Remote binding is hard even for the most advanced mages. And I'm a little past my prime. But I can give it a shot, if you like. I can probably get you somewhere off this island, and probably on dry land. I couldn't promise you any specifics, though.

;Fine. I'll take it. What do I do?

I'll need to do some math to compensate for ley line fluctuation. Fortunately there are some old obelisks that were once used for this very thing, back when the Council was teleporting students here every week. Hopefully they still work!

Find the four obelisks and write down their info. Then bring it to me.

;Four obelisks. Right.
|RewardFavor=
|Summary=An old elf named Elmetaph said he could teach you Teleportation. You just need to find an amethyst first.
He suggested you search around the old teleportation platforms for lost gems, but mentioned that amethysts might be found anywhere on the island.

Well, you could swim, hehe... no, don't look hopeful, that was a joke! The sea's full of horrible beasts. An elven friend comes to visit me every year or so. You could get a ride back with her. Shouldn't be more than six or eight months wait.

;That's too long. Is there any other way?

If you still had your magic training, you could teleport, I suppose...

;Can you teach me how to teleport?

You were a fast learner before, so I guess I could try to teach you again. But it took you weeks to master it, and that's after you'd been studying the basics of magic for quite awhile. Hopefully some remnant of that training is still in your head somewhere. We can give it a shot and see...

;Great! How do we begin?

Well, first you'll need an amethyst as a catalyst. And I'm fresh out of gems.

;Shit.

Don't you curse at me, young man! There's still a chance. Lots of students had their teleportation trials on this island, and they all brought spare amethysts, so there's bound to be some hidden around somewhere.

;So I should find an Amethyst and come back?

Yup. Come back with an amethyst and I'll teach you the basics of teleportation.

Try searching around the old teleportation platforms for misplaced gem bags. If that doesn't work, well, there could be amethysts anywhere on the island, really.

;I'll do that and come back. Goodbye.
|QuestTips=As Elemtaph describes, Amethysts can be found in a "Dropped sack" near either teleporter on the island. If you lose your Amethysts, Lawara will give you one if you do her a favor.

__NOTOC__
One of the unique features of Project Gorgon is that is allows players to choose to play as an animal. The animal forms like Cow and Spider were originalle intended as curses, but they each have their own playstyles, so some players enjoy playing as animals full time.

General Characterisation
Cow and Deer are both built as Tanks, Cow as more of your traditional tank archetype, while Deer can be considered an Off-Tank. With Cow your Tankiness/Tank-like Abilities come inherently from your skills. While with Deer, your tank-like abilities come from having the right mods on your gear.

Spiders would be similar to your dps/assassin types most of their skill is set on using Infinite Legs, or Poison abilities to quickly kill the enemy. The same can be said about Werewolves and Giant Bats, they're both known for their damage and their ability to keep the pressure on.

Pigs are your support build, they can solo decently, but they are better of in groups, as a healer or a buff build with use of Mudbath, Frenzy, Porcine Alertness.

Rabbits offer a stealthy playstyle.

Druids by themselves should NOT be classified as a Beast Form. However Druids are given spells that will allow them to assume certain beast appearances like Deer, Raven and Mallard.

Advantages
With Cows your advantages are you are a tank, so you have high survivability. Cows also have a nice sprint skill called Moo of Determination, and they have the ability to produce their own milk, which helps in crafting skills such as Cheesemaking, or Cooking. If you are a vegetarian Cow you have the ability to produce milk every 3 or 4 minutes, while if your a non-vegetarian you can only produce it every 5 minutes. Players can also milk other Player Cows every 15 minutes. Both are considerably better than waiting an hour to milk a specific cow.

Deers have the ability to jump faster/higher, they also have AoE Taunts, while Cow only has single target taunts. They have the ability also to summon another Deer Pet to help out in battle.

Spiders have the ability to use Insidious Illusion to talk to Animal Hating NPCs, it uses up a Moonstone. They also have the ability at lvl 50 to produce their own Spiderweb, which does help with crafting such as Tailoring, especially if they want to make their own Spider Carapace Armor.

Pigs have two sidebar abilities Terror Dash, which gives them a sprint bonus, and Truffle Sniff which allows them to sniff for mushrooms, I believe the higher the Truffle Sniff the higher lvl Mushroom you are likely to get, or the higher the chances you are of getting a mushroom.

Rabbits are the only Beast Form capable of using Ice Magic by equipping a special headgear item.

Giant Bats have the ability of Echolocation which allows them to see in the dark, such as dungeons (especially helpful with Claudia), and they do have the ability to Fly, they also have the ability to turn players into Bats, so be careful when facing them in PvP.

Wolves have the ability to switch in and out of wolf form(except during Full Moon, when they are stuck for 3 days), they also have specific Wolf-Altar/Wolf benefits, the altar can unlock higher lvl abilities, has the option of being a storage space, and by completing quests for the Altar you can get bonuses like Extra Armor, Power, Health, Damage Mitigation, Bonus Attack %, or a Sprint Speed bonus.

Disadvantages
<B>Becoming a Werewolf / choosing for Lycanthropy is a PERMANENT CHOICE. It has some impactful consequences when doing that. It CANNOT be reversed.</B>

One of the disadvantages of being an animal is Beast Speech. While typing in chat certain words can be changed to a sound-representation. <br>
Example: a Cow might type "I'll wait for you near the Serbule well". But after pressing Enter the sentence may read as "I'll wait moo you near the Moooooo mooo". The words that will be replaced will be random.

Certain NPCs will not speak to you while you are an animal. Especially the ones in Serbule. (Note: This also has the consequence that the storage for Joeh, Marna, Ivyn and Tadion may not be available. At the moment those storages are available to animals through the Serbule central storage closet in the room between Hulon and Marna). But to counter that there are Animal NPCs in Animal Town which is in Sun Vale, who will speak to you, but only after you have been an Animal for 3 in game hours.

Another disadvantage is your inability to use skills that require hands, such as Sword, Fire/Ice Magic, Shield, and your inability to cut/gather wood, since skills that require the use of Hands do not work, since animals do not have hands (or thumbs).

Crafting Gear for Animal Forms
Observant players have noticed that it's hard to craft gear for animal-cursed players. There's only one gem that covers all animal curses, so you often craft Deer gear when you really want Spider gear, and so on.

Preta can teach you to inscribe runes into those gems, so that you can attune the gem to one specific animal curse. You'll want to get your Sigil Scripting skill to level 25 to be able to use those techniques.

General tips regarding playing in an Animal Form
For general advice, avoid playing as an animal unless absolutely certain, and after you have explored zones such as Serbule and Etilbule as a human, and gotten at least some storage space, NPC favors done, and gotten used to the general feel of the game. Because starting off as an Animal can be hard or trying for a new player.

Be aware that the Animal Forms stack. If you are a cow, and drink a Deer Juice potion, you will appear to be a Deer. However you are also still cursed as a Cow. So after drinking an Un-Deer Juice, you will not be in human form, but will be a Cow again.

When just starting animal say something in Nearby chat every 5 min or so. That way you will get exp in your Beast Speech, and won't bother people in Global. You can also set up a new chat-channel with a unique name and use that as a private channel to randomly type in, to level up Beast Speech.

To (some) animals Joeh will not talk. Thus causing a problem for those players when trying to sell gear loot-drops. Please know that Roshun the Traitor talks to animals and also buys gear.

Storage unlocked in Serbule (from Joeh, Ivyn or Marna) will seem to be unavailable to animals since those NPC's wont talk to them. That storage can be accessed (at least as of the moment this is written) through the Bookshelf (between Marna's and Hulon's house).

3-sylabe word of powers include ones that will grant you illusion, making you look like elf for 2 min. can be helpfull when talking to NPCs. Note that Spiders can learn a spell Illusion (that consumes a moonstone) to take human form for some minutes.

You definately should start working on favor in Animal Town asap, especialy if you are full time animal (eg - not wolf)

Jumper, Raul and Norbert in Sun Vale's Animal Town offers Storage only for players in animal form.

Seek out special NPC's
There are unique opportunities for animal players. For instance, if you're playing as a Cow, Deer, or Pig, seek out the Suspicious Cow, an NPC cow in the fields of Eltibule. She can sell you some animal-specific abilities, and even has a unique dye recipe that is otherwise unobtainable ("drab grass green"). She also sells belts for each of those animal forms. Werewolves should look for Sanja the wolf, in the forests off the coast of Kur. And every animal player will find it helpful to talk to Flia, a fairy in the wilds of Serbule.
NPC & Animal Interactions
Returning to Human Form (temporarily)
In order to make "being an animal" a viable path through the entire game, the next update (Sept 2014) adds some high-level Words of Power that can help. These Words apply an illusion to you that makes you look like a human for a minute or so -- just long enough to talk to NPCs that ignore animals!

Completing quests this way is a fairly laborious process, because you have to research the Words and each Word is usable only once. It is intended that being an animal is a hard play style. The "human form" Words of Power just ensure that animals can access important skills and equipment that they will need at higher level, even though it will be a bit of a pain.

Spiders can learn the 'Illusion' spell (that consumes one moonstone each time) to assume a human form illusion for a limited time.

To permanently undo the transformation to Cow, a player will have the kill the Maronesa boss in the Crystal Cavern.<br>
To undo the transformation to a Deer, Rabbit or a Pig, a player will have to obtain a random drop Un-Deer potion or Un-Pig potion and drink that.<br>
To undo the transformation to a Spider the player will have to obtain an Un Spider potion from the Strange Spider in Serbule Crypts (who is guarded by the tough Rhino Guardian).<br>
Please note: <B> once a player has transformed to a Lycan (wolf), that CANNOT be undone ! </B>

Trivia
Animal forms (and specifically Cow at first), was at first 'a fluke' by the Dev's.
Citan / Eric originally only intended the Animal forms to be a very temporary curse. Intended only as 'punishment' and to be cured ASAP. <br>
He / they were surprised to find that certain players wanted to continue playing in that animal form. And subsequently the different animal forms and their abilities and playstyle were further developed.
: I have to admit, I completely missed that change (which I really like). Thank you for both implementing it, and pointing it out. BetaNotus (talk) 18:06, 4 May 2017 (CDT)
::: Very handy, is there anything similar for skill icons? I've just been uploading each individually (example: ) but I'm not really up to speed on anything that happened since last June. == Food transfer ==

There are lots of articles in the Food category, why move them to Items/Food that is hardly used and not as easy to read? Caleon (talk)
: The old categories were added in a mostly failed attempt to self-categorize items that proved to be too great a task at the time, and game updates have provided a better system. Switching category tags on all items is something that needs to happen, and a bot is being written to add them automatically to item pages. I'll do my best to explain, using the Large Strawberry. In-game, and through the available json files, the Large Strawberry is categorized with a number of Keywords. (BrewingFruitA4, BrewingIngredient, Edible, Food, FoodorCookingIngredient, Fruit, Ingredient, InstantSnack, Snack). These keywords, when applied to every item, will allow the wiki to generate very specific lists using dpl that can be tied into NPC purchase lists, favor, or skill pages. For example, an updating list of every item that is an Instant Snack or meal could be created. Marna Loves Rare Recipes. Instead of letting users guess what is a "Rare Recipe", the Small Talk section for Marna will directly link to a list of all items in the Items/RareRecipe category. == missing icon for Red Wing Token ==

Good morning Beta

in Bartering:Dorimir Fangblade I introduced an item that has a missing icon. Do you know how to fix that ? I think I referenced the item correct.
Thanks for your help
Jackybah2 (talk) 03:51, 23 September 2018 (EDT)
: Good morning. You did reference the item properly, but the wiki has yet to receive an update to Template:Item icon since the latest patch. I'll manually add the Red Wing Token, but the rest of the items will wait until the page gets updated by the bot. BetaNotus (talk) 12:36, 23 September 2018 (EDT)

Bartering
What's going on with the Bartering page? I get nothing whatsoever with multiple browsers. Unruly (talk) 11:50, 10 January 2019 (EST)Unruly
: There was an issue with the number of pages being transcluded onto the Bartering page. Apparently attempting to include sub-pages from more than fifteen other pages creates some issues. For now, I have replaced the page with a simplified list of NPCs in each zone that barter. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. BetaNotus (talk) 12:22, 10 January 2019 (EST)
NPC Templates
Beta, I made an npc Template, and converted over mushroom jack. Should make all npc pages look the same and should we need to make adjustments it'll just be in once place. Could you take a look and let me know what you think? thanks
