Hearty Cave Rats are slightly stronger than their Giant Rat brethren. Hearty Cave Rats are sometimes found in dangerous locations.

Note: At level 42, a tamed Hearty Cave Rat and a Giant Plains Rat have the same stats, and this probably continues to level 70. If you already have a Giant Plains Rat, it's probably not worth the bother to tame a Hearty Cave Rat unless it's several levels higher.
