Michael Irasce is an evil man in Statehelm who will prevent you from acquiring ink you need to craft high level staves with Carpentry until you give him many "documents".

Quests

Michael Irasce offers a quest asking you to retrieve a book hidden behind a gilded chest in a deep cave in Povus. This does not appear to be the Gilded Lockbox or Gilded Chest in the Tiger Maze section of Nightmare Caves, or the Lost and Found chest in the Skill Trainer area. I would guess there are other Gilded Chests in the caves. If you know where it is, please add the info.
